Privacy notice
How we handle personal data on demyst.eu and in the DEMYST project. Written in plain language, because a privacy notice nobody understands protects nobody.
Who is responsible
IKReON, based in Ružomberok, Slovakia, is the data controller for this website and for the DEMYST project. IKReON coordinates the project and decides how personal data is used.
Our project partners — Associazione Culturale Pro.M.E.T.EU.S. in Italy and the Austrian Forum for Integration and Sustainability in Austria — process personal data of participants in their own countries under a written partnership agreement.

What we collect
Data, purpose and legal basis
If you write to us
We keep your name, email address and the content of your message, so that we can answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us.
Kept for: up to two years after our last exchange.
If you join an activity
For workshops, training and demo days we collect your name, contact details, organisation, age range and attendance record. We need these to run the activity and to report to the funder.
Kept for: three years after the final payment of the grant, as required by our Grant Agreement.
Photos and video
We take photos at project activities. We publish them only with your written consent, which you give separately and can withdraw at any time. Legal basis: consent.
We never publish the names of young participants alongside their photos.
Project updates
If you sign up for updates, we keep your email address only for that purpose. Legal basis: consent. Every message includes an unsubscribe link.
Kept for: until you unsubscribe, and no later than the end of 2030.
Website and cookies
This site uses only the cookies needed to work properly. If we later add visitor statistics, we will ask for your consent first and you will be able to refuse without losing access to anything.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security purposes.
Downloads
We count how many times our materials are downloaded, because the funder requires that figure. We count downloads, not people — no account or email address is needed to download anything.
Who else sees your data
- Our project partners, where an activity takes place in their country
- NIVAM, the Slovak National Agency for Erasmus+, and the European Commission, for monitoring and audit of the funded project
- Service providers who host this website and send our emails, bound by contract to process data only on our instructions
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. Where a service provider is outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards provided for in EU data protection law.
In our public reporting, participant data is always anonymised — we report numbers, not names.
Your rights
What you can ask us to do
- See your data — ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Correct it — if something is wrong or out of date
- Delete it — unless we are required to keep it for audit of the grant
- Limit or object — ask us to stop a particular use of your data
- Withdraw consent — for photos or updates, at any time, without giving a reason
- Take your data with you — receive it in a common machine-readable format
Write to info@ikreon.com and we will respond within one month. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.
If you believe we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky), or to the supervisory authority in the country where you live.
